Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has issued a new Order to provide one-time financial assistance to individuals who participated in the Second World War, widows of soldiers who were killed or later died, and those awarded for their labor efforts during the war. This initiative underscores the government’s continued commitment to supporting citizens who contributed to the war effort.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population released information detailing the Order. In light of the upcoming 81st anniversary of Victory in World War II, a one-time financial assistance of 2,750 manats will be awarded to war participants.
Widows of fallen World War II soldiers, individuals honored with orders and medals for their labor during the war, special unit employees who served within the combat fronts or operational zones, and those recognized for defending Leningrad or participating in its siege will receive 1,500 manats each.
The Order is anticipated to benefit nearly 2,000 individuals, including 13 World War II participants. To facilitate this, 3 million manats have been allocated from the President’s Reserve Fund, as specified in the 2026 state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population will ensure the financial assistance is directly deposited into the bank accounts of eligible World War II participants and other beneficiaries.
