Baku: This year, Azerbaijan will observe a series of 12 consecutive non-working days in March due to the Novruz and Ramadan holidays, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a decision on December 11, 2024, designating March 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24, 2025, as Novruz holidays. Since March 22 and 23 fall on a weekend, the Labor Code stipulates that March 25 and 26 will also be non-working days.
The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to swap the workdays of March 27 and 28, 2025, with the rest days of March 10 and April 1 to maintain continuity between work and rest days. As March 8, International Women’s Day, falls on a Saturday, March 10 is designated a non-working day, and since March 30 falls on a Sunday for Ramadan, April 1 would also typically be a non-working day.
Consequently, March 29 and 30 will also be non-working days as they fall on a weekend. Therefore, the non-working days for Novruz and Ramadan holidays will be March 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 this year.
