Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Security Concerns


Baku: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has held a telephone conversation with his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. During the call on 20 March, the two ministers discussed cooperation issues stemming from the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, as well as the security situation in the Middle East.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, both sides expressed deep concern over the rising tensions in the region, stressing that further military escalation poses a serious threat not only to regional security but also to global stability. They underlined the importance of intensifying efforts to ensure stability.



The ministers also exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and the Novruz holiday, expressing hope for stronger unity and cooperation between their peoples and countries. They additionally exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
