Baku: Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, met with Lord Alderdice, the UK Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asia, to explore ways to boost business, investment, and trade ties between the two nations. The discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral economic and trade relations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister Jabbarov briefed the British envoy on Azerbaijan’s successful cooperation with Central Asian countries. The meeting also addressed key items on the bilateral economic agenda, such as collaboration with UK Export Finance (UKEF), energy transition, and human capital development.
Further discussions included investment opportunities in the Alat Free Economic Zone and fostering partnerships in energy, high technology, and digital transformation. Both parties expressed a commitment to exploring these avenues to enhance economic and trade ties between Azerbaijan and the UK.
