Abu dhabi: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, in Abu Dhabi, where they signed a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the leaders emphasized the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the UAE, focusing on their friendship and brotherhood. They acknowledged the strong political relations and the expanding economic and trade ties between the two nations. The meeting served as a continuation of the dialogue initiated during President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to the UAE in January and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to Azerbaijan.
The discussions covered bilateral relations, with a focus on energy cooperation, particularly in the area of renewable energy. The Presidents expressed satisfaction with the partnerships between SOCAR and ADNOC, and between Azerbaijan and the UAE’s ‘Masdar’ company. They also appreciated the UAE’s participation in the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit held in Khankendi.
The signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement underscored the commitment of both countries to enhance their economic collaboration. At the end of the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev presented a keepsake to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
