Baku: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov engaged in discussions with Brendan Hanrahan from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs (EUR) to explore ways to enhance bilateral economic relations and identify new avenues for investment, as reported by the Ministry of Economy to Trend.
According to Trend News Agency, both parties expressed satisfaction with the current state of Azerbaijan-U.S. economic relations and deliberated on strategies to elevate cooperation. The discussions underscored the importance of the Intergovernmental Memorandum, which proposes the establishment of a Strategic Working Group to draft a Strategic Partnership Charter, aimed at fortifying the institutional framework for economic collaboration.
During the meeting, Azerbaijan outlined its economic priorities, focusing on ongoing reforms, improvements to the business environment, and strategic infrastructure projects designed to attract U.S. companies. This dialogue builds on previous discussions in Washington with entities like the U.S. Export-Import Bank (US EXIM Bank), SpaceX, and Exxon Mobil, which concentrated on new cooperation mechanisms and investment initiatives.
The conversation also covered ongoing developments related to the Zangezur Corridor under the Trans-Caspian Regional Development and Partnership Platform (TRIPP) and the potential economic advantages of regional transport and logistics projects.
