Azerbaijan and Portugal Discuss Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation in Antalya


Antalya: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov has held talks with Portugal’s Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting focused on prospects for expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two countries. The ministers discussed strengthening political dialogue, as well as enhancing collaboration in economic, trade, and humanitarian fields.



They also reviewed opportunities to deepen ties through the planned opening of Portugal’s embassy in Azerbaijan in the near future. Both sides underlined the importance of cooperation within international organisations and highlighted the value of exchanging experience in multilateral diplomacy. Priorities within frameworks such as the United Nations and the European Union were also considered, with an emphasis on joint efforts.



Regional developments in the post-conflict period were also on the agenda. Bayramov briefed his counterpart on Azerbaijan’s peace agenda and steps taken towards normalisation. The ministers further exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest, including the situation in the Middle East, stressing the importance of restoring stability and expressing hope for successful negotiations.
