Baku:Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, held a meeting with Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad, Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue of the Holy See, on September 29.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Cardinal Koovakad expressed his gratitude for the hospitality he experienced during his visit to Azerbaijan. He mentioned his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev and underscored the significance of the discussions that took place during his visit.
The Cardinal highlighted Azerbaijanrole in promoting interfaith solidarity and peace, especially in a world troubled by conflict and messages of hatred. This model, he noted, serves as an influential example to the international community.
Leyla Aliyeva emphasized the importance of mutual support and collaboration in addressing global challenges through dialogue on culture, religion, and human values.
The discussions also covered the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiatives in the Vatican and future joint programs as part of the Memorandum of Understanding with the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations.
