Baku: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, recently held a meeting with Maria K. Papakonstantinou, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Speaker Gafarova congratulated Ambassador Papakonstantinou on her appointment and extended her best wishes for a successful diplomatic mission.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting highlighted the robust cooperation between Azerbaijan and Greece, acknowledging the vital role political dialogue and high-level visits play in enhancing bilateral relations. The discussions also focused on the interparliamentary relations between the two nations, emphasizing their importance within both bilateral and multilateral contexts.
The two parties discussed the significance of reciprocal visits and the strengthening of friendship groups to further solidify the connections between their legislative bodies. They also underscored the value of collaboration within interparliamentary organizations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Co-operation, which provide valuable platforms for cooperation.
