Ankara: Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, is currently in Ankara to attend the 12th Azerbaijan-Georgia-Trkiye Defence Ministers’ Trilateral Meeting. During this visit, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov engaged in a bilateral meeting with his Georgian counterpart, Mr. Irakli Chikovani.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting underscored the significance of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in promoting peace, stability, and security in the region. It was noted that the interactions between the heads of state are essential for enhancing the relations between the two countries.
The discussion also highlighted that regular mutual visits and meetings in different formats are indicative of the high level of relations in the military domain and other fields. The Ministers addressed the ongoing military-political situation in the region and emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in both trilateral and bilateral formats to ensure a prosperous and peaceful environment for both nations.
The meeting concluded with the exploration of new prospects for military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia. The Ministers stressed the importance of increasing the frequency of joint exercises to facilitate experience sharing and engaged in a comprehensive exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
