Baku: Nearly 9 billion manats will be allocated for defense and national security expenditures in 2026, APA reports, citing the draft law ‘On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.’
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the draft outlines that 8,714,781,860 manats are planned to be allocated for defense and security expenses. Of this total, 3,030,735,789 manats will be designated for defense forces, while national security will receive 480,623,148 manats. Additionally, 541,633,496 manats are earmarked for border services, and 5,091,411 manats will be devoted to applied research in the field of defense and national security.
Furthermore, 4,656,698,016 manats will be allocated for other activities related to defense and national security. Out of this, 4,500,000,000 manats will be specifically directed towards expenditures for special defense-purpose projects and measures.
