Azerbaijan Allocates 285 Million Manats for Social Protection of Former IDPs

Baku: Azerbaijan is set to allocate 285 million manats this year for the social protection of former internally displaced persons (IDPs). This initiative is part of a broader plan to reinforce social protection measures for vulnerable groups within the country.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan has outlined that a total of 4 billion 873 million manats will be directed from the state budget toward social welfare expenditures.

The plan includes a provision of 465 million manats dedicated to targeted state social assistance. Furthermore, 41.8 million manats from the state budget will be allocated to support education and scholarship expenses. This financial aid is intended for students whose monthly income falls below the subsistence minimum and who belong to specific categories, such as those who have lost one or both parents, former IDPs, and children of individuals who were killed or disabled defending the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Additional beneficiaries include holders of the title ‘War Veteran’, persons with disabilities due to a significant impairment of bodily functions, individuals under 18 with disabilities, members of martyr families, and vocational education students under 20 whose parents have substantial disabilities. The initiative reflects Azerbaijan’s commitment to supporting its vulnerable populations through comprehensive financial assistance programs.
