Baku: Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), a part of AZCON Holding, has introduced a new initiative for its youngest passengers.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a colourful children’s book titled ‘Blue Plane Dreams’ has been published. This book, produced by TEAS Press Publishing House at AZAL’s request, is dedicated to International Civil Aviation Day, celebrated on December 7, and will be gifted to young AZAL passengers during flights.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Ilham Amirov, Vice-President of AZAL, highlighted the project’s potential to influence future civil aviation professionals. The book, written by children’s author Murshud Ismayilzadeh, tells the story of an eight-year-old boy named Azer. On his birthday, Azer receives a model airplane from his grandfather, a former AZAL pilot, which ignites his passion for aviation.
Azer’s older brother, Murad, a student at the National Aviation Academy, assists him in assembling the model. The book includes explanations of airplane mechanics and interesting aviation facts, teaching children that aircraft structures are inspired by birds, ultrasonic wave reflection by bats, and tail design by fish.
For Azer, the year is momentous as he not only receives a cherished gift but also embarks on his first flight from Baku to Karabakh, reinforcing his dream of becoming a pilot. ‘Blue Plane Dreams’ is part of AZAL’s broader initiative to inspire children to explore aviation, increase awareness, and create opportunities for future generations.
