Antalya: ‘Our goal is to expand the supply of our energy resources to the European market,’ stated Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration. He made this announcement during the panel discussion titled ‘South Caucasus: Emerging Strategic Hub’ at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, as reported by APA’s correspondent in Trkiye.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Hajiyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s role as a reliable partner for the European Union and other global partners in the energy sector. Azerbaijan is actively expanding the geographical reach of its energy exports, including the recent commencement of Azerbaijani gas supplies to Syria in collaboration with Trkiye. This initiative is seen as a successful model of trilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan, Trkiye, and Syria. Hajiyev reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to contributing to the global energy supply, particularly towards Europe, while acknowledging the ongoing disruptions in global energy security.
He further highlighted Azerbaijan’s investments in renewable energy, aiming to diversify and expand export opportunities in this field. The country is also collaborating with Central Asian partners to facilitate the transportation of their energy resources, all in pursuit of enhancing the supply of energy resources to the European market.
