Baku: The ASAN model is successfully integrating volunteerism into everyday life, providing volunteers with pathways to engage in civil society, Zarina Mirabdullayeva, the Regional Coordinator for Europe and Central Asia at the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, stated during an event titled ‘The ASAN Model in Urbanization: The Role of Public Services and Volunteerism’. This event was part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, as reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mirabdullayeva emphasized that the ASAN model offers volunteers valuable opportunities to learn, embark on their professional journeys, and enhance their communication skills with communities. She described it as an effective organizational approach, highlighting that while spontaneous volunteerism has its merits, there is a growing need for a more structured volunteerism model that is supported both by the state and society.
