Baku: Events surrounding the Beylik Baghi and Kalbajar tunnel incidents have been labeled as war crimes, as stated by Arayik Harutyunyan during his final statement at the Baku Military Court. Harutyunyan made these remarks on December 19 while addressing the court proceedings against Armenian nationals.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Harutyunyan expressed his surprise upon learning about these incidents during the hearing, despite considering himself well-informed. He stated, “I consider myself a very well-informed person. However, I learned about the incident in the tunnel in Kalbajar here. For example, I learned about the Beylik Baghi incident during the hearing.” Harutyunyan emphasized that these acts constitute war crimes and asserted that those responsible would face consequences, whether in this world or beyond.
The court proceedings in Baku involve Armenian nationals charged with various offenses related to Armenia’s military actions against Azerbaijan. These charges include war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, aggression, terrorism, violations of the laws and customs of war, financing of terrorism, and the violent seizure and retention of power, among other serious accusations.
