Baku: Mohamed Osman Mohamoud, Advisor to the President of Somalia and Founder/CEO of the ‘Sadar’ Institute, emphasized the pivotal role of Azerbaijan as a bridge both regionally and between civilizations during his speech at the first General Assembly of the Global South NGO Platform. This event was part of the Baku Urban Week.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Mohamed Osman Mohamoud remarked on Azerbaijan’s efforts toward fostering dialogue, peace, and sustainable development. He acknowledged the multitude of challenges facing the global community, noting that over 2 billion people reside in fragile and conflict-affected areas, with climate change impacting millions and causing widespread hunger and food security issues.
Mohamoud highlighted the crucial role of the Global South NGO Platform in unifying communities, amplifying voices, and transforming experiences into global initiatives. He stressed the importance of civil society’s active involvement in decision-making processes, advocating for its central role in shaping a shared future.
