Baku: Around 20 people from Ethiopia have gone missing after taking part in the Gothia Cup football tournament in Gothenburg, according to Sweden Herald. The missing individuals include boys aged between 14 and 17, along with one or more team leaders.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the disappearance was noted on the final day of this year’s Gothia Cup. A school administrator reported that the Ethiopian team, which had been accommodated at the school, had left without informing anyone. Consequently, Gothia Cup officials contacted the police, who filed a missing persons report.
The police have stated that the individuals have not returned to Ethiopia, indicating a voluntary disappearance. Investigations continue as authorities seek to understand the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
