Baku:Azerbaijan has significant opportunities for regional economic cooperation, according to World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus Rolande Simone Pryce.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Pryce made these remarks during a plenary session titled ‘Unlocking CAMCA’s Development Potential Policy Foundations for Regional Cooperation’ at the CAMCA 2026 Regional Forum in Baku.
Pryce emphasized that Azerbaijan’s stable economic position is bolstered by substantial financial reserves, low public debt, and prudent fiscal and monetary policies. She described Azerbaijan as “a very successful economy,” noting its visible prosperity.
She pointed out that the South Caucasus region, due to its geographical location, natural resources, and historical context, holds significant geopolitical importance. The South Caucasus lies at the crossroads between Central Asia and Europe, enhancing its strategic value.
Pryce suggested that the region’s potential could be harnessed through simultaneous progress in infrastructure development, policy reforms, and regional cooperation. She cited the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route as a key example of effective collaboration contributing to economic growth in the region.
“There is strength in unity, and cooperation brings success,” Pryce concluded.
