UN-Habitat: The Key Goal is to Achieve Housing Accessibility

Baku: The Group for Eastern Europe and Central Asia convened during the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, focusing on the central theme of housing accessibility.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting gathered participants from governments, municipalities, the private sector, civil society, youth, the academic community, and international organizations from a range of countries. The discussions centered on demographic shifts and the importance of collaboration with civil society, as emphasized by Erfan Ali, Director of the UN-Habitat Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Ali underscored the significance of demographic changes globally and reiterated UN-Habitat’s commitment to engaging with civil society representatives. Following his remarks, delegates from Ukraine, Serbia, Georgia, Moldova, and other nations shared insights into the specific challenges and realities faced in their respective regions.
