Baku: Senior military ranks were presented to servicemen of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense during a ceremony held on June 26. The event was attended by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, who met with the servicemen awarded senior military ranks in accordance with the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press Nws Aency, the ceremony began with the reading of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 25, 2026. This decree conferred the senior military rank of “Major General” upon certain servicemen of the Ministry of Defense. Following this, the relevant order from the Minister of Defense was read, and the officers were formally presented with their new ranks.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov conveyed the congratulations of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to the newly promoted servicemen. He wished them continued success in their future service and provided instructions and guidance for the effective fulfillment of their duties.
The awarded officers expressed their gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. They also thanked the leadership of the Ministry of Defense for the trust and confidence placed in them, reaffirming their commitment to justify that confidence through dedicated and exemplary service.
