Baku: The ‘Sea Breeze Beach Polo 2026’ international tournament is set to take place at Havana Beach, Sea Breeze Resort, from September 11 to 13. Organized by the Azerbaijan Equestrian Federation (ARAF) and Sea Breeze, this event will feature teams from across the globe.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the tournament will host four teams and 12 polo players representing Azerbaijan, the UK, Switzerland, Russia, Argentina, and South Africa. Matches are scheduled to occur daily at 4:00 p.m. from September 11 to 13, with pairings determined by a draw the day prior.
Each match in the Beach Polo series will include four chukkers, each lasting approximately seven minutes, with total match durations ranging from 30 to 40 minutes, breaks included. Adjustments to the schedule and match durations may be necessary due to weather conditions. The tournament’s final match is slated for September 13 at 4:00 p.m., after which an awards ceremony and trophy presentation will take place.
In addition to the polo matches, the event will feature a DJ program and various entertainment activities. Tickets are required for admission, and organizers anticipate around 500 spectators over the three-day event.
Idman TV will provide live broadcasts of the tournament, while Polo Line will ensure international media coverage. The ‘Sea Breeze Beach Polo 2026’ tournament aims to promote Azerbaijan’s equestrian and polo heritage, foster international relations, and highlight the nation’s capability to host major sporting events.
