Havana: The Beach Polo Sea Breeze 2026 tournament is scheduled to take place from September 11-13, 2026, at Havana Beach, located on the grounds of the Sea Breeze Resort.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the event is officially organized by the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ARAF) and Sea Breeze. The tournament will feature four teams representing Azerbaijan, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Russia, with a total of 12 polo players participating. These athletes hail from Azerbaijan, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Russia, Argentina, and the Republic of South Africa.
The tournament will host two polo matches daily on September 11, 12, and 13, beginning at 16:00. The matchups for each day will be determined by a draw conducted a day before the matches. In the Beach Polo format, each match consists of four periods, known as chukkers, each lasting approximately seven minutes. The total match duration, including breaks, is around 30-40 minutes. Adjustments to match duration and program may occur based on weather conditions and temperature.
The final match of the tournament is slated for 16:00 on September 13, followed by an awards ceremony and trophy presentation for the winners. In addition to the sports events, a DJ program and entertainment activities are planned for spectators. Approximately 500 spectators are expected to attend the event over the three days, with entry by ticket.
The tournament matches will be broadcast live by Idman TV, and Polo Line, an online channel catering to an international polo audience, will be present to enhance the event’s media coverage and its promotion within the polo community. The Beach Polo Sea Breeze 2026 tournament aims to highlight Azerbaijan’s equestrian sport in a dynamic format, foster connections with the international polo community, promote the nation’s polo and equestrian culture, and showcase Azerbaijan’s capacity to host international sporting events.
