Antalya: The collaboration between Trkiye and Azerbaijan stands as a crucial element in ensuring peace and security in the region, stated Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Speaking at the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum during a panel session titled “The Role of Regional Ownership in a Transforming World,” Hajiyev emphasized the importance of regional ownership and the responsibility of addressing regional challenges alongside like-minded partners.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Hajiyev elaborated on the core principles of regional ownership, underlining the necessity of establishing an order that prioritizes regional leadership and cooperation. He highlighted the role of diplomacy and dialogue at various levels, including bilateral, trilateral, and even quadrilateral engagements, as essential components of this strategy. Security, he noted, remains a primary concern for every country and region in today’s world.
Hajiyev pointed out that the cooperation between Trkiye and Azerbaijan has evolved into an alliance through the ‘Shusha Declaration,’ signed by the leaders of both nations. This partnership has been expanded into a trilateral model, including collaborations with Georgia and Iran, and outreach to Central Asian countries. These practical mechanisms of cooperation, established in various formats, are designed to benefit all involved parties, he concluded.
