President Ilham Aliyev Meets Eastern Committee of German Economy Chairman Michael Harms

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with Michael Harms, Chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy, on July 20 in Berlin. The meeting underscored the increasing interest among Azerbaijani and German business communities to collaborate, with discussions focused on institutionalizing these partnerships.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Aliyev and Chairman Harms exchanged views on the potential in both traditional and alternative energy sectors. They also explored opportunities in connectivity, transport, and logistics, particularly focusing on the Middle Corridor. The conversation highlighted the significance of applying advanced German technologies in Azerbaijan’s agriculture sector, referencing the recently adopted State Program on agriculture in Azerbaijan and the potential for cooperation in “smart agriculture.”

The meeting also touched upon the possibilities of enhancing Azerbaijan’s tourism potential, alongside other areas of mutual interest, signaling a strong intent to deepen economic and technological ties between Azerbaijan and Germany.
