Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of a paper and hygiene products manufacturing facility owned by ‘Fabriora Group’ Limited Liability Company (LLC) in the capital’s Garadagh district.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and founder of ‘Fabriora Group’ LLC Ibrahim Uygur provided details about the facility’s operations to the president. The facility will manufacture paper and hygiene products such as baby diapers, various wipes, and detergents, utilizing both domestic and imported raw materials. The production process will employ advanced, automated technologies from Germany, Italy, and Trkiye, and the facility spans nearly 11 hectares.
The products manufactured at the facility will not only cater to local demand but will also be exported to international markets, including Georgia, Kazakhstan, Russia, and countries in the Middle East. The facility is projected to create permanent employment opportunities for 240 individuals.
Privatized through an investment competition by the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy, the total investment for the project stands at AZN 27 million. ‘Fabriora Group’ LLC has benefited from exemptions worth AZN 1 million from VAT and customs duties on imported equipment, based on an investment promotion document.
One of the primary goals of Azerbaijan’s economic policy, under President Aliyev’s leadership, is to bolster the country’s industrial capacity and enhance competitive manufacturing. This industrialization drive aims to develop more sustainable production and supply chains, reduce import dependency, and increase market access for Azerbaijani products globally.
