Shamakhi: President Ilham Aliyev has announced that the new Shamakhi-Ismayilli-Gabala highway is expected to be commissioned next year. Speaking at the opening of the ‘Shirvan Agro’ livestock complex in Shamakhi, the president highlighted the significance of this infrastructure project in enhancing connectivity within the region.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized the modern design of the Shamakhi-Baku highway, which already provides robust connectivity with Baku and the western and northwestern regions of Azerbaijan. He noted that the new highway under construction will include the largest bridge in the country, underscoring the government’s commitment to improving nationwide infrastructure.
The president also mentioned the broader objective of addressing connectivity issues across Azerbaijan to ensure citizens have better living conditions, stable employment, and a decent standard of living. The development of such infrastructure projects is seen as a step towards achieving these goals.
