Zangilan: President Ilham Aliyev has announced ambitious plans to develop Zangilan into a crucial transport hub for Azerbaijan and the wider region. The city, strategically located along an important transport corridor, is poised for significant infrastructure development, as articulated by President Aliyev during a meeting with local residents.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev detailed the ongoing construction of a railway that will enhance connectivity. The project aims to facilitate travel from Baku to Zangilan by rail, with expectations for completion within a year to a year and a half. The railway will also extend to Khankendi, providing further accessibility for travelers. Moreover, the railway will link up with Nakhchivan through the Zangezur Corridor, reinforcing Zangilan’s role as a pivotal transit point in the region.
