Istanbul: Nigerian international Victor Osimhen reached a major milestone on Sunday, scoring his 200th career goal and providing an assist to inspire Galatasaray to a commanding 4-0 win over Kayserispor, a result that extended their lead at the top of the Super Lig, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Super Eagles striker reached the landmark in style, taking his tally to 165 club goals and 35 international goals, underlining his status as one of the most prolific forwards of his generation.
Osimhen has now registered 14 goals in 20 appearances across all competitions this season, arriving in Sunday’s contest in form after also scoring in Galatasaray’s previous league outing, a 3-1 victory over Karagmrk.
Galatasaray wasted no time asserting their dominance against Kayserispor, taking the lead inside seven minutes when Aaron Opoku turned the ball into his own net while attempting to deal with a dangerous cross into the penalty area. The hosts doubled their advantage in the 26th minute
