Antalya: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov, highlighted the strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey as a pivotal contributor to global energy security. Speaking at a panel discussion during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkey, Shahbazov emphasized the significance of the collaborative projects initiated by Azerbaijan, which have successfully connected the Caspian Sea with the Black Sea through the Baku-Supsa pipeline, and with the Mediterranean Sea via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Shahbazov further elaborated on the impact of the 3,500-kilometer Southern Gas Corridor. This ambitious infrastructure has, for the first time, linked the Caspian Sea through seven countries to southern Italy and the Adriatic Sea. Shahbazov remarked that such initiatives serve as a model for building cooperative frameworks aimed at bolstering the resilience of the global energy sector and enhancing energy security.
