Minister: Aghband-Kelaleh Highway Bridge to Boost Azerbaijan-Iran Transport Links

Baku: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has announced that the construction of the Aghband-Kelaleh highway bridge is set to enhance transport connections between Azerbaijan and Iran. This development was discussed during a briefing with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bayramov highlighted that in 2024, trade turnover between the two nations reached $650 million. He emphasized that current trade figures do not fully capture the potential for economic collaboration. The ministers explored avenues for expanding trade relations further.

Bayramov also indicated that the bridge, which is scheduled for completion in 2026, will significantly contribute to improving transport and communication links between Azerbaijan and Iran. This infrastructure project is expected to facilitate increased trade and strengthen the bilateral relationship.
