Military Lyceum Celebrates 54th Graduation Ceremony with Honors


Baku: A solemn ceremony was held to mark the 54th graduation of cadets from the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski at the National Defense University. The Ministry of Defense announced the event to APA, highlighting the presence of various dignitaries including representatives from the Ministry of Defense, university and lyceum leadership, teachers, cadets, alumni, parents, and media representatives.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the ceremony commenced with a tribute as flowers were laid in front of the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, followed by a visit to the National Leader museum. Participants also paid their respects by laying flowers in front of the bust of Jamshid Nakhchivanski, situated on the military lyceum’s grounds.



The event featured the solemn presentation of the Battle Flag of the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski on the parade ground. Attendees observed a minute of silence in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Shehids who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed by a military orchestra, adding to the ceremonial atmosphere.



Major General Gunduz Abdulov, Rector of the National Defense University, extended his congratulations to the graduates on behalf of the Ministry of Defense’s leadership. He offered them best wishes for their future military service, emphasizing the significance of the day.



As part of the ceremony, graduates received the Military Lyceum’s badges. A standout cadet in studies and discipline attached the graduation emblem to a symbolic stump, marking the culmination of their training. The Battle Flag was then ceremonially handed over to the next batch of cadets.



Concluding the event, the cadets showcased their training by performing the Lyceum’s march, accompanied by a military orchestra, as they marched past the grandstand in a display of discipline and pride.
