Major Gains in US Stock Markets amid Mixed Global Trends


New york: US stock market indexes closed higher, ‘APA-Economics’ reports. The S and P 500 rose by 0.84% or 61.82 points to 7,398.93 points, while the technology-heavy NASDAQ Composite increased by 1.71% or 440.88 points to 26,247.08 points.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, European stock markets saw declines. The Euro Stoxx 50 fell by 1.02% to 5,911.53 points, the FTSE 100 dropped by 0.43% to 10,233.07 points, Germany’s DAX declined by 1.32% to 24,338.63 points, and France’s CAC 40 decreased by 1.09% to 8,112.57 points.



Mixed dynamics were observed in Asian markets. Japan’s Nikkei 225 fell by 0.19% to 62,713.65 points, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index declined by 0.87% to 26,393.71 points, China’s CSI 300 dropped by 0.58% to 4,871.91 points, while Australia’s S and P/ASX 200 decreased by 1.51% to 8,744.35 points.



According to analysts, although market participants assessed optimism regarding trade talks between the United States and China, rising tensions in the Middle East, particularly in US-Iran relations, and volatility in energy prices limited investors’ risk appetite.
