Kuwait city: The Azerbaijani Embassy in Kuwait organized an official reception to commemorate May 28, Azerbaijan’s Independence Day. The event was attended by notable figures including officials from Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry, members of the ruling family, representatives from the diplomatic corps, socio-political and academic circles, as well as Kuwaiti alumni who studied in Azerbaijan and members of the Turkish community. Azerbaijanis residing and studying in Kuwait also participated in the celebrations. Deputy Foreign Minister of Kuwait Hamad Suleiman Mashaan Al-Mashaan attended as an honorary guest.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event featured the performance of the national anthems of both Azerbaijan and Kuwait. In his address, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kuwait Emil Karimov highlighted the significance of Independence Day in Azerbaijan’s history. He pointed out the growing interest of Kuwaiti citizens in Azerbaijan, citing that over 32,000 Kuwaiti citizens visited the country last year. Karimov also emphasized the operational direct flights between Baku and Al-Kuwait by Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways.
Deputy Foreign Minister Hamad Suleiman Mashaan Al-Mashaan extended his congratulations to the Azerbaijani people on their Independence Day and praised the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in various fields. The event concluded with the distribution of the magazine “IRS Heritage” and other promotional materials to the attendees.
