Initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, ‘Young Beekeeper’ Project Successfully Implemented in Yevlakh District

Yevlakh: The ‘Young Beekeeper’ project, initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, has seen successful completion in the Yevlakh district. This initiative aimed to equip young families with the skills and resources necessary to venture into beekeeping.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the project selected 20 young families from the Yevlakh district to undergo a comprehensive training program this year. The participants received both theoretical and practical instruction from seasoned beekeepers. Upon completing the course, the families were provided with essential beekeeping materials, including bee colonies, hives, beekeeping suits, honey extraction equipment, and other necessary tools to start their own beekeeping businesses.

The project also ensures ongoing support to the beneficiaries, focusing on the growth of their beekeeping operations, enhancing the production, and improving the marketing and commercialization of their honey products. This initiative is part of a broader effort that has supported over 80 young families across various regions since 2021, under the collaboration of IDEA Public Union, the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Employment Agency, and “ABAD” public legal entity.

The overarching goals of the project include biodiversity protection, promoting beekeeping as an eco-friendly entrepreneurial activity, supporting natural honey production, and enhancing the financial well-being of young families.
