Baku: Staff of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have completed the 2026 Article IV mission to Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the mission, led by Ms. Anna Bordon, visited Baku from February 4 to 17, 2026. The purpose of the visit was to assess the country’s economic situation, financial developments, economic outlook, risks, and policies aimed at promoting sustainable growth.
The mission engaged in discussions with senior government officials, representatives of the financial sector, and international financial institutions. These meetings aimed to gather insights into the current economic landscape and potential future developments in Azerbaijan.
It was highlighted that, based on the preliminary findings, the mission will draft a report to be submitted to the IMF Executive Board. This report will be crucial for further discussions and decisions regarding Azerbaijan’s economic policies and strategies.
