‘Harmony’ Documentary Showcased in Rome Highlighting Religious Coexistence


Rome:The ‘Harmony’ documentary was presented in Rome, Italy, on September 28. Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, was among the attendees at the event.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the documentary was produced in collaboration with Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Religious Associations, the Moral Values Promotion Foundation, and the Baku Media Center. Arzu Aliyeva, the head of the Baku Media Center, served as the film’s executive producer.

The event saw participation from the Azerbaijani delegation, officials of the Holy See, representatives of the diplomatic corps, religious communities, and religious figures. Guests also viewed a photo exhibition showcasing Azerbaijan’s religious and cultural heritage.

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the Holy See, Ilgar Mukhtarov, expressed gratitude to those involved in the documentary’s production. He emphasized that the film illustrates how diversity can enhance understanding and connection among people, showcasing the lives of three you
ng women from different religious backgrounds in Azerbaijan.

Father Laurent Basanese delivered a message from Cardinal George Jacob Koovakad, Prefect of the Dicastery, highlighting the importance of coexistence amid religious diversity. The cardinal noted that ‘Harmony’ encourages living with differences in a spirit of respect and dialogue.

Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Religious Associations, spoke about Azerbaijan’s longstanding culture of multiculturalism and peaceful coexistence. He described the documentary as a vital moral message from Azerbaijan to the world, reflecting the country’s diverse realities.

The documentary concluded the event and is also being featured at international festivals and on various cinema platforms.
