Galatasaray Crushes Fenerbahce 3-0, Puts Super Lig Title Within Reach

Istanbul: Galatasaray dismantled Fenerbahce 3-0 Sunday in a chaotic and at times combustible Istanbul derby at Rams Park, a result that all but ends the Super Lig title race with four matches remaining and puts the hosts on the brink of a fourth consecutive championship.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Victor Osimhen broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, Baris Alper Yilmaz converted a penalty in the 67th, and Lucas Torreira sealed the rout in the 83rd, capping a dominant performance that was aided by Fenerbahce’s descent to 10 men and a pair of canceled goals that inflamed an already volatile atmosphere.

The win extends Galatasaray’s lead over Fenerbahce to seven points, with the clubs having played the same number of games. Entering the evening four points ahead of their rivals, coach Okan Buruk’s side now needs only to sustain that margin across the remaining fixtures to secure what would be an unprecedented run of consecutive league titles.
