COP31 Logistics in Spotlight at BCAW2026


Baku: Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW2026) featured a briefing on logistics for the upcoming COP31. The briefing focused on preparations for COP31, informing participants about the COP31 venue, accommodation, transport, visa procedures, and other logistical matters.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ahmet Sami Kulaklioglu, Representative of the Turkish Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, announced that COP31 will take place from November 9 to 20. The opening ceremony is scheduled for November 11, while the Leaders’ Summit will be held on November 11-12.



Describing Antalya as a major tourism hub that welcomes millions of visitors annually, Kulaklioglu noted that the city has a capacity of 650,000 beds. He also highlighted the accommodation capacity of the Kalei§i, Lara, Kundu, and Belek areas, located near the COP31 venue, which together offer approximately 300,000 beds.



According to him, the COP31 venue covers a total area of 1.1 million square meters, with 527,000 square meters allocated to the Blue Zone and 582,000 square meters to the Green Zone.
