Comprehensive Work Carried Out to Maintain Stable Oil and Gas Production in Azerbaijan


Baku: Last year, 65.9 thousand meters of drilling work were carried out in Azerbaijan by SOCAR, consortiums, and operating companies in order to maintain and partially increase oil and gas production, APA-Economics reports. This was reflected in the ‘Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2025,’ which was discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the reporting period, new projects were implemented, existing infrastructure was expanded, and modern innovations and digital technologies were tested and introduced in order to technically and economically optimize production processes across companies and maintain and partially increase oil and gas production.



The report highlights that in 2025, 27.7 million tons of oil and 50.9 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in the country’s oil and gas sector. Of this production, 79.9% of the oil and 90.4% of the gas were attributed to enterprises operating in the non-state sector of the oil and gas industry.



The document further states that compared to 2003, oil production in the republic in 2025 increased by more than 1.7 times, while gas production increased by 9.9 times.
