Awaza:The member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) have agreed to intensify their collaborative efforts in combating cybercrime.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Concept for the Development of Information Cooperation in Countering IT Crimes was signed during a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State held in the Awaza tourist zone. This document is part of the Interstate Crime Prevention Program for 2024-2028 and the Action Plan of the CIS Council of Interior Ministers on Combating Cyber Threats.
The Concept outlines the legal, organizational, and scientific-methodological foundations for cooperation among CIS member states’ law enforcement agencies. It aims to enhance the legal framework, facilitate regular expert consultations, encourage joint research initiatives, and promote the exchange of professional expertise.
A significant aspect of this cooperation will be the establishment of an interstate database containing digital footprints linked to crimes, along with the implementation of automated channels for their swift transmission. Moreover, CIS countries will create a shared repository of materials and best practices to prevent high-tech crime.
