Baku: In January of this year, 1,904.4 tons of butter were produced in Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports, citing the State Statistical Committee. This figure represents a 13.2% decrease compared to the same month last year. As of January 1, industrial enterprises had 74.2 tons of finished product in stock.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the reporting period, margarine production in the country decreased by 28.5% compared to January 2025, totaling 3,700.6 tons, while the production of liquid vegetable oil increased by 15.6% to 4,576.6 tons. In addition, last month Azerbaijan produced 219.6 thousand decaliters (1 dal = 10 liters) of fruit juices, 11,433.5 tons of fruit and vegetable preserves, and 6.4 thousand tons of table salt. Compared to January of the previous year, these figures declined by 44.5%, 8.2%, and 11.1%, respectively.
In 2025, Azerbaijan imported a total of 20,130.38 tons of butter worth $145.31448 million and 4,086.42 tons of margarine worth $5.79509 million.
