Baku: Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) maintained a consistent production output during the first half of 2026, achieving an average production rate of approximately 323,000 barrels per day, equating to around 59 million barrels or 8 million tonnes overall. This production was distributed across several platforms, including Chirag, Central Azeri, West Azeri, East Azeri, Deepwater Gunashli, West Chirag, and ACE, according to bp Azerbaijan, as reported by AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, bp and its co-venturers invested approximately $268 million in operating expenditures and $733 million in capital expenditures for ACG activities during the first half of the year. The 4D high-definition ocean bottom node seismic program continued its progress with data processing completion from 2025.
In addition, the multi-well subsea intervention campaign in the Deepwater Gunashli area saw five intervention jobs completed, with ongoing activities on a sixth well. The Central Azeri Gas Expansion (CAGE) project also advanced, completing key upgrades to the gas injection compressors, which were achieved safely and ahead of schedule without requiring plant outages or additional flaring.
The CAGE project, aimed at increasing gas reinjection capacity to maximize existing well recovery, began in January 2026 and is slated for completion in September this year. This timeline follows the planned maintenance and finalization of all post-modification activities on the Central Azeri platform.
The ACG consortium’s participating interests include bp as the operator with 30.37%, SOCAR with 35.30%, MOL at 9.57%, INPEX with 9.31%, ExxonMobil holding 6.79%, TPAO at 5.73%, and ONGC Videsh with 2.92%.
