Las Vegas:Azerbaijani wrestler Gunay Gurbanova claimed a silver medal at the U23 World Championships in Las Vegas, United States, raising the team’s total medal count to three.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Gurbanova secured the silver after a closely contested 59kg final bout against Ukraine’s Alina Filipovich, which ended in a 44 tie.
Earlier in the competition, Elmir Aliyev of Azerbaijan won a silver medal in the 60kg category, while Ruslan Nurullayev took bronze in the 77kg category. The World Championships are set to conclude on October 18.
