Azerbaijani Language Requires Unique Translation Algorithms, Says ANAS Official

Baku: “Translation algorithms for the Azerbaijani language must be created,” declared Nadir Mammadli, director of the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics of ANAS, Doctor of Philology, and professor, during his speech at the conference ‘The Development Strategy of the Azerbaijani Language as the State Language: Current Situation and Prospects.’

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mammadli emphasized the importance of sourcing words from Turkic-speaking communities rather than adopting foreign language terms. He also highlighted the need to enhance the official language style and prepare a revised history of the Azerbaijani language. The initial volume of this history has been completed, comprising 220,000 words. Mammadli further noted the necessity of incorporating words for which there is no existing equivalent in the Azerbaijani language.
