Azerbaijani Laboratories to Join COOMET Studies

Baku: New laboratories in Azerbaijan will participate in studies within the framework of the Euro-Asian Cooperation of National Metrological Institutions (COOMET), as announced by COOMET President Lazizbek Saidoripov during the opening ceremony of seven new laboratories at the Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology, Trend reports.

According to Trend News Agency, Saidoripov stated that the inauguration of the new laboratories marks a significant event. These laboratories aim to foster the development of industry, science, technology, and the economy in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology is actively involved in COOMET projects and recently hosted a meeting to discuss cooperation with countries like Azerbaijan, Trkiye, and Uzbekistan, which are leading new initiatives within the framework.

Saidoripov emphasized the importance of international recognition for the measurements conducted at the institute, which could facilitate access to international markets by eliminating redundant processes. The collaboration within COOMET is set to enhance employee potential and introduce advanced technologies, including quantum metrology and information transformation.

Key topics such as knowledge transfer, mirror internships, and testing new standards were discussed. The newly opened standards will engage in studies under COOMET, thereby achieving international equivalence and participating in interlaboratory studies with established institutes. The precise measurements carried out in these laboratories are crucial for the quality and safety of Azerbaijani products, contributing to investment attraction and economic development.

COOMET acts as a collaborative platform for metrology professionals in the Euro-Asian region, functioning as a regional metrology organization that aligns with strategic frameworks. It helps member nations tackle metrological challenges in the global marketplace, which is vital for the efficient flow of goods and services across borders.
