Baku: President Ilham Aliyev announced that 10 members of the European Union are currently receiving natural gas from Azerbaijan. During his speech at the Azerbaijan-Latvia Business Forum, he emphasized the importance of this supply over the past several years, noting an increased demand in recent months. President Aliyev highlighted plans to boost both production and exports of natural gas.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the President stated that Azerbaijan now supplies natural gas to a total of 16 countries. He noted that while Azerbaijan may not be the largest producer or exporter globally, it ranks number one in the world for the geography of pipeline gas exports. President Aliyev acknowledged that there are larger players in the market, but emphasized Azerbaijan’s leadership in pipeline supply distribution.
