Baku: Aztelekom LLC is taking significant steps to enhance its infrastructure base for transporting international internet traffic via its backbone fiber-optic network, as reported by APA-Economics. The company is initiating an expansion of its network using Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, which is known for its high-capacity fiber-optic transmission capabilities. Additionally, relevant software updates will be carried out to support this upgrade.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, these developments will reinforce Azerbaijan’s role as a crucial element in the North-South and West digital transit corridors. This initiative is expected to significantly boost the country’s competitiveness within the international digital landscape, underlining its strategic position in the global internet infrastructure network.
