Baku:Gold emerged as the leading export item in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector from January to August 2026, as reported by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, gold exports during this period, excluding non-monetary gold, amounted to $271.2 million, marking a 28.7 percent increase compared to the previous year. Copper ores and concentrates valued at $183.7 million were the second most exported goods, followed by tomatoes at $172.2 million.
In August 2026 alone, Azerbaijan exported $36.8 million worth of gold, maintaining its position as the top non-oil export. Copper ores and concentrates followed with $31.7 million, while peaches, including nectarines, came in third with $29.4 million in exports.
Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector exports from January to August 2026 amounted to $814.2 million to the Russian Federation, $435 million to T¼rkiye, $386.5 million to Georgia, $284.4 million to Switzerland, and $101.1 million to Ukraine. In August 2026, the Russian Federation received $82.5 million worth of non-oil sector goods, with Georgia, T¼rkiye, Switzerland, and Ukraine receiving $58.5 million, $44.4 million, $37.9 million, and $16.1 million respectively.
