Tbilisi:The Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA), Samir Akhundov, is attending the 9th World Forum on Energy Regulation (WFER IX) in Tbilisi, which is taking place from September 21 to 24.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event is organized by the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) and supported by the International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER).
The forum, themed ‘When Balance is Achieved,’ has attracted leaders and representatives from energy regulatory bodies, influential energy companies, regional associations, and academic circles worldwide. The primary aim is to exchange knowledge, tackle new challenges in energy regulation, explore innovative strategies, and chart future paths for development in this sector.
Key discussions at the forum cover a range of significant issues such as innovation and energy transition, effective regulation tools, fuel value chain regulation, integrating regional energy markets, frameworks for infrastructure investment and system flexibility, consumer protection, and strategies for decarbonizing non-electrifiable energy demand.
